Well this was done a couple of months back and was my first experiment with combining pen-points and solid shading. I had the idea of making a maple leaf-esque type cut out and made a stencil of the outline then filled in from there. I found it a bit tricky to "see" the overall effect whilst doing it and while I like it I find myself creeped out by it too. It was worth the experiment I reckon but not something I'd be in a hurry to try again I don't think :/
